When the lupin bloom in Maine, one knows it is summer! They came into season very early this year…
The last week has been a roller coaster ride! Ten days ago it was supposed to snow. Last Friday, May 31, it was 93 degrees F.! That has to be a record!
Spring is in heading into early summer at a fast rate. It seems hard to believe that it is nearly June! The change of the month marks quite a few changes at Brick House Fabrics.
The last two weeks have brought many changes- both to the landscape and to Brick House Fabrics!
Spring is definitely here! Grass is greening up, and flowering shrubs are blooming. One sees forsythia everywhere, the occasional quince, and magnolias.
What a difference ten days makes! The difference between ten days ago and today is huge! Bulbs are up, and so are the Primula vulgaris!
The parade of spring bulbs has begun. Though the temperatures are still in the 30’s, and the last few days have been very windy, the snow drops are in full bloom, and the early species crocus are up!
Maine in March is not a pretty sight. Fields are tan with patches of snow, roads are covered in dust if dry and mud if wet, and the wind blows harshly across the land.
Catching up on writing, and there has been a lot to catch up on!
FRIDAY- March 8, 2013
Leaving Maine on Tuesday- at 3:15 AM, for a quick trip to check on family, sloppy snow was falling. A large storm was hitting Chicago, so my flight was cancelled, but I managed to catch a seat to Atlanta, connecting through to the west coast.
Not having fabric to cut, these trips give me a chance to do some catching up on much needed photo editing and writing.
