Lace Fabrics for Light and Privacy July 14, 2024Fabric Facts A lot of people like lace, and a lot of people LOVE lace. And in the world of home decorating lace has several uses. RIBBON FLORAL BOUQUET FABRIC First, lace sets a tone. We have seen lace done in traditional patterns, and in really imaginative patterns, as well as modern patterns. It can be used in many different applications. The lace we have is yardage, not finished panels. So, it can be as versitile as a person wants it to be. For curtains or valences it allows light into a room, while preserving one’s privacy. When choosing a fabric for a room, one must consider what one is trying to achieve. The same is true with lace. FLORAL MEDALION LACE FABRIC For instance, the Floral Medallion Lace fabric has a tight pattern which will provide a lot of privacy. A lace with a very full pattern will keep people from intruding on one’s space. But, lace doesn’t just keep the outside from being intrusive, it can also be useful for those on the inside of a room, by keeping a less than appealing view from being visible, either because of the fullness of the pattern, or by distracting the eye. The Art Nouveau Lace fabric is a much more open pattern, but when hung the pattern can deflects the eye from the outside. ART NEUVEAU FLORAL LACE The Rose Scroll Lace Fabric is a sweet pattern. While it would make wonderful curtains, it would be lovely being used as a lace over skirt for bedding, or even clothing. This is one thing many forget- lace can be used for more than curtain! ROSE SCROLL LACE FABRIC The daffodil iris fabric is one of those patterns that might be used for several things. IRIS DAFFODIL LACE FABRIC First, it is a lovely pattern for those who garden! And, it was woven with a unique double border. The out side border can be snipped away, and used to finish the fabric. It can be used for the top and bottom of a curtain, or if one wanted to make a tablecloth, it can be used to finish the edges of it. I love that it was provided! How lovely would it be incorportated into a wedding, or for a brides veil? Or for the edges of a shawl. And, that is what I love about lace, it can be used for curtains, clothing, decorative overlays for cushions, bed skirts, and so much more!
