This week has been all about YELLOW!
I was recently going through images of fabrics we have had. And as I looked at some of the older ones, it reminded me of how this business came to be, how it all happened. So, I thought I would explain how Brick House Fabrics came to be.
The last two weeks have been all about roosters and chickens!
I love walking along the ocean.
In the winter,
if it is above 20 degrees F, at the house,
and if the wind is not blowing,
I like to go for a beach walk.
On Saturday, the 7th, I checked the tide-
it would be low in the early afternoon.
As that is usually the warmest part of the day,
I headed down to Pemaquid beach around 1 pm.
As our main focus has always been novelty fabrics,
we have not carried many striped fabrics.
But, the ones we have are now on sale!

As many know, I have been trying to catch up with getting small pieces or pieces with flaws online. Some of these have been waiting to be listed for quite some time. As each needs to be inspected, measured, and photographed, the process has given me time to reflect on many aspects of home decorating fabrics.
We are seeing a lot of interest in Asian fabrics,
in particular those from the Orient-
mainly those with
Chinese and Japanese inspired patterns.
But, what makes a pattern Oriental or Asian?
As a bolt of fabric gets used
we tend to get a lot of small pieces-
remnants!
This week has been all about neutrals-
specifically gold and tan.
