The parade of spring bulbs has begun. Though the temperatures are still in the 30’s, and the last few days have been very windy, the snow drops are in full bloom, and the early species crocus are up!
A colony of snow drops in full bloom is a joy for ever!
While they stand out from the drab background,
the early crocus do not.
It is always with surprise that one happens upon them.
When one gets close to them one wonders how they could have been missed!
In some lights some of the early crocus almost glow!
In a lower meadow early pale crocus add a subtle note of beauty.
Though not as large as the Dutch hybrids, they are a welcome sign of spring!

TUESDAY- April 9, 2013
Yesterday our large order came in- around 36 bolts! And most are new patterns! It is very exciting! There is a lagoon pattern with turtles that comes with backgrounds of white, pale blue, or a rich true orange! And there is a seashell pattern as a companion.
Another ocean related fabric has pictures of lighthouses, with everything from a rope knot to a seahorse. Once can almost smell the sea and hear the creak of a wooden schooner. It has a companion print of large coral trees that also works well with the lagoon turtle pattern, as well as the reef toile pattern.

We have been photographing all day.
But, it is so cloudy and rainy
it has been hard to edit the pictures.
The first one is up, though…
It is bold and beautiful!
We will be working on getting other fabrics up tomorrow!
FRIDAY- April 12, 2013
Yesterday afternoon the sun broke through…so I edited pictures like crazy!! And I have gotten several of the new fabrics listed in between orders. Check the fabric blog for updates. There is a new gold fish fabric- you HAVE to like orange. And the same pattern done as a night time fabric. The indoor/outdoor fish fabric, which we have in aqua finally arrived in indigo blue! It looks great. And the other one that was listed today I am calling the Lighthouse Keeper’s fabric!
The morning started out grey and cold- 35 degrees F. Around 1:00 it started spitting something. Then the temperature dropped, and it was sleeting… a wintry mix is predicted for tonight!
This means that there was no beach walk for Spot today. I have pictures from the day before Easter, and will try to get them up tomorrow!
