Well, one has to admit when one plays hookey. And, truth to tell, I did this week. Read the first installment about it:
A Down East Summer Trip.
Other news in the fabric world. Pink is the color that is selling the most this week! What has sold the most are the Venice toile fabric, the pink poodle fabric, the pink owl fabric, and the pink/green French toile fabric. Obviously neutrals have not taken over totally!
The Sunday Special this week is the Staffordshire Dog Fabricis on sale. There are six yards left, and until next Sunday morning it is priced at $9.99/yard…
This is available in the Dog Fabric category or the Collectible Fabrics
While we got to play hookey last week, the summer seems to be coming to a close quickly. We hope you are finding time to enjoy things before the fall season, with all of it’s busy activities is upon us. For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, we hope you are looking forward to a wonderful spring!
For those of you finishing up projects, please send pics of what you are doing… we love to see new things, and it inspires others as well!
This week we have quite a few fabrics to list… There are three Ralph Lauren horse toiles coming in, as well as a new color way of a chicken toile fabric that we have never had, it features the colors teal and green- very exciting!
We will be continuing to work on the tale of the Down East Adventure so, check back for more pics of that!
WEDNESDAY: Boy, talk about rain! We got almost 2″ last night, and it has been raining solidly all day!
Duck weather!
We listed the new aqua seashell matelasse fabric.
it is a really nice muted shade!
It is also available in beige.
They are in the Seashell Fabric Category,
under Ocean Fabrics.
We have added a page about Quoddy Head Light-
in the continuing saga of playing hookey Down East.
You can go to SEWING NOTIONS, then to Maine, then to the Down East Summer Trip, page 3.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 20, 2011
Well, summer seems to be coming to a close very quickly.
But, today was a most summery day!
It was warm, slight breeze, slightly humid…
and the cicadas are singing their August song.
The fields are beginning to have that slightly brown end of summer look.
And the sound of acorns on the kitchen roof has begun
it is the first real fall thing to happen.
Though, one tree up in Waldoboro is turning red, and the sumac is coloring up as well.
The Down East summer trip article
seems to be getting bigger and bigger.
An extra section on the Lubec Narrows lighthouse has been added,
but not finished.
Hopefully it will be tomorrow!
LUBEC NARROWS CHANNEL LIGHTHOUSE
Read about it in the Sewing Notions Section, Maine Musings, Down East Trip.
This week the most sold fabric type was chickens!
The chicken wire fabrics have been getting the hits!
Both the blue and the yellow are very strong.
These are available in the Chicken Fabric Category.
For those that want a different color of this, we have a new bolt in of it in the teal/green colorway.
It will be listed at the beginning of the week.
