Well, after a glorious weekend, it has been a week of rain, wind, and weather in the 40’s F.
On Sunday, during the Spot Walk in the Meadows, the clouds started boiling up… the weather was changing.
Now, after several days of rain- Mainers can take snow, but a few days of rain brings out the blues! – the weather continues to be dank. But, a thing veil of green is showing in the woods. Spring is still coming!!
Speaking of the blues, this week has been devoted to photographing blue fabrics. And, it has been an uphill battle. Some of the fabrics have really delicate shadings. And for whatever reason, trying to get any type of reasonable depiction of them has been an uphill battle… that said, two new Indiennes in shades of blue were listed yesterday- with more to come. Watch the blog for more about them.
While doing blues, I decided to start on a large project. We were able to get some Clarence House Fabrics. They are beautiful. There are a lot of silks, a lot of wovens- including some wonderful ikats, double damasks, and stripes. And there are quite a few upholstery weight fabrics as well as some prints. Walking by them this morning there were two that were blue- how appropriate, I thought, and grabbed them to photograph. One is a Tree of Life fabric with a batik look, the other is a silk pin stripe.
Other things in the works: velvets- these will be cut yardage from the mills, we are working with two different ones. Watch the blog- we will let you know when they are listed…
And we are simplifying the codes for other cut yardage ordered from the mills. There has been some confusion as the samples have the mill’s codes on them, and we have it in the URL code, but have not included it in the listing title. They will now, but, with hundreds of products, it will take time to convert them. The other thing that is confusing is the name that the mill’s give the fabrics. When a brown fabric is called aubergine, it is confusing! But, we have to use the mill color name to get the right fabric ordered.
So, onward! Off to take pictures, and to change codes!!!
And, yes, I will get the next Spot Walk pictures up!
