11/11/11 has come and gone!!! This whole month is going to seem odd with 11s being at the beginning and end of each day!
SUNDAY- November 13, 2011 or 11/13/11
Maine has been enjoying a beautiful stretch of weather. This fall has been really unreal with snow one week, and 60 degree weather the next. The larches usually turn gold around Halloween, this year they are in full glory now. Sadly, in a week, the needles will fall, and the show will be over.
ON SALE:
The four seashell coral stripe fabrics that are companions to the large seashell medalion fabrics are on sale. They are available in blue, aqua, tan, and orange. If you need them, get them! The blue is in very short supply.
The coral seashell stripe fabrics are in both the
Coral Fabric category and the Seashell Fabric category.

Fabric Facts has finally been launched. We started with some information about the home decorating fabric, we hope you find them interesting. At the moment there is Home Decorating Fabric- what is it, articles about buying, pricing, and the industry. We will be adding articles about the history of certain genres.
So, when you have a minute take a look at
FABRIC FACTS
I did not get much of a chance to write on the blog last week. The reason is, that we decided to add another way to search for fabric. There will be a SEARCH BY STYLE menu on the right hand side of the page. We think this will be helpful for those trying to put together a look.
Our philosophy has always been if you put things into a room that you love, it will have a cohesive look as it is YOUR style, an eclectic mix of things that work for you. But, we realize, with the amount of fabrics that we have, that it is not easy to find what goes with what, or works together. This became evident with all of the new seashell and coral patterns, that had different elements that work together, and that are part of the same group of fabrics, but are not in the same genre. The coral fabrics were separated from the shell fabrics that were separated from…
So, last week was spent organizing the search, and categories. It should be live by Wednesday at the latest, and we hope you find it helpful.
The categories at the moment are:
Baronial Style
Coastal Living
Craftsman
English Decorating
Farmhouse Style
French Decor
Lodge Cabin Style
Modern and Retro
Tropic of Cancer
Victorian Look
Several of these will have sub-categories.
Things we hope to do this week is get the new chicken fabric listed, a new satin brocade, ribbon floral, and a few other things.
Reps have been busy and new samples are coming in. We will be importing some English toile fabrics. Some are not carried by anyone in the United States, and they are beautiful. We are also working with a company in France, and hope to be able to move forward with getting their things as well.
Also this week, the Albany/Hudson trip article will finally get finished!
So check back at the blog to see how we are progressing!

The new teal and green chicken wire toile fabric.
This has arrived just in time. You know our mantra- BUY ENOUGH FABRIC FOR YOUR PROJECT. With the economy one does not know how long a pattern will run.
AGAIN:
BUY ENOUGH FABRIC FOR YOUR PROJECT!
On Friday we got an SOS from a workroom in California… did we have any of the blue chicken wire chicken fabric left…They had run out, called the company, and been told it was discontinued, with no stock left.
WHAT? I had been about to order a new bolt, and I called the company… yes, it was gone! We had 14 yards left, and shipped it post haste to California, and the workroom set up a conference with their client. They came to an agreement to use a check with the chickens, and everyone heaved a sigh of relief that a sticky situation had been avoided.
Repeat the fabric buying mantra:
buy enough fabric for your project!
