SUNDAY- September 25, 2011
This morning after a damp week, the day began foggy. I assumed it was going to be cold out. SURPRISE! Hot and humid… a last reminder of summer!
WEEKLY FABRIC SPECIAL
This week the fabric special is the
Chicken toile fabric, in brown.
This has small roosters and hens on a stippled plum brown background,
which makes for a change from the normal yellow, red, or blue rooster toile fabrics!
This is a good scale and weight for napkins, and would not show the dirt!
This can be seen in the
Chicken and Duck Fabric Category.
ON THE AGENDA THIS WEEK:
Our favorite fabric rep is coming tomorrow… so we can catch up on fabric news!
A new bolt of the red deer toile should be in on Wednesday, for all that want that.
I hope to finish the Down East Trip, Lubec….
Will be adding more destash pieces, as we get ready for new fabric coming in. For the ones added Friday see last weeks blog.
And hopefully can add a lot of nice pictures of September in Maine to the Maine Musings…
JUST LISTED:
A Small piece of Schumacher Leopard Fabric.
This is a tapestry fabric.
It is the full width of the bolt, but only 12″ long.
There is enough for a purse, or small pillows.
See this in the
Schumacher Fabric category.
MONDAY- September 26, 2011
The day is another glorious summery type day! Enjoy, enjoy!
JUST LISTED:
A 70″ destash piece of the European windows fabric.
Cute and fun, it just says summer! Perfect for someone who wishes they were on the Mediterranean!
This and yardage are available in the
France Italy Fabric category.
A piece of the Schumacher yellow red toile fishing fabric.
This shows a variety of scenes with boats and fish,
with women doing the laundry!
And yes, there is a pair of lovers as well!
This and other colors of this pattern are in the
Schumacher Fabric category.
JUST IN:
A new bolt of the red deer toile fabric. This comes in red, deep blue, gold, and aqua. The red we are having trouble keeping in stock!
It is in the Animal Fabric category, under
Other animals.
WEDNESDAY- September28. 2011
Well first order of business today is the furnace gets its yearly cleaning this morning. Now we know it is fall, despite the warm weather!
IN MAINE MUSINGS- The Down East Summer Trip
Another page is done!
Take a look at some pictures of Lubec!
This and other pics are in the
SEWING NOTIONS, Maine Musings, Down East Summer Trip
JUST LISTED:
Schumacher Silk Stripe Fabric
Two pieces of a fabric marketed by Schumacher Fabrics have been listed. One is a destash piece due to a fold impression, even though the fabric has never been folded.
This is a sumptuous silk satin, suitable for upholstery work. Platinum gold stripes alternate with different colored stripes that are slightly wider. The colors are rich tones of brick, brown, copper, greyed taupe, and deep gold. Because of the satin weave the color tones will change, depending on how the light hits the fabric.
These are available in the
Schumacher Fabric category.
Also found, it had slipped in back of other fabrics…
A Schumacher Grammercy magnolia fabric. This is a sheeting weight fabric that arrived flat folded, so marked destash. This has large magnolias done in shades of salmon and orange. It is perfect for curtains, or napkins!
The Schumacher magnolia fabric can be found in the
Floral Fabric category.
THURSDAY- September 29, 2011
Today we discontinued the Discontinued Fabrics section of the blog. We get so little (none) notice that a fabric has been out of print that it became pointless. From now on as soon as we learn that something is out of print we will add it to the item specifics that are below the listings.
FRIDAY- September 30, 2011
It doesn’t seem possible, the end of the month already! Today was a golden day, and we are relishing every one of them!
JUST LISTED:
Two Schumacher fabrics.
First there is a tropical bamboo fabric with colors of red and green.
The second is exquisite!
Reminiscent of paisley shawl fabrics
an 100% linen fabric with a large paisley pattern in red, blue, green, and gold on a golden brown tone.
Both of these can be found in the
Schumacher Fabric category.
Well, Pumpkin Fest is about a week away. For those who don’t know what that is, it is a pumpkin festival held in Damariscotta, Maine. This is not your ordinary pumpkin festival. This is all about the giant Atlantic pumpkins! There are weigh offs, a pumpkin toss, a pumpkin regatta (yes, people are out there in pumpkins that have been turned into boats), and this year a new pumpkin derby!
Come up to Damariscotta, eat some pie, and see the giant pumpkins lining Maine street.
Tomorrow is the beginning of the weigh off… And on Sunday someone will be awarded $10,000 for the prize for having grown the largest pumpkin. I went down to Pinkham’s Plantation today, to see what was going on, and pumpkins are already showing up to be weighed… there was one that weight 910.5 lbs! Now that is a pumpkin!
SATURDAY- October 1, 2011
Unreal- the first of October, where does the time go? We were awakened this morning to a huge, long clap of thunder! and then there was lightening and then a LOT of rain. Today is the Pumpkin Fest weigh off for the volunteer growers’ pumpkins. We hope to get some pictures after the rain lets up!.
This week the most sold color was pink!
Pink toile and pink girly girl owls are neck and neck!
